AMSTERDAM

1. What brought you to Amsterdam? 

Naomi is from the town of Drenthe in the Netherlands. Her desire to study tourism and work in the hospitality and tourism industry brought her to Amsterdam. Because Amsterdam attracts many tourists throughout the year, it provides many opportunities for work in her desired field. She currently holds an internship with the NH Carlton Hotel. 

 

2. What is your ideal Saturday afternoon? 

"If it's nice and sunny, be in a big city on a terrace with a cocktail, watching people."

(I mentioned that is my favorite part of travelling to Europe - sitting with a coffee or drink, soaking in the atmosphere and watching the bustle around me).

 

2b. We don't do this well in America. 

Naomi laughed and mentioned American movies often portray American's in Europe doing this very thing. 

 

3. If you had one day left in Amsterdam, what would you do? 

Rent a boat and have a party on the canal with friends. Have barbecue and drinks. "Most people buy boats but you can rent. It is a very popular thing to do."

 

4. What is your favorite place to eat?

Any café in Leidseplein square.
